A group of 7th grade students from Ms. Starkenberg's
Social Studies class wrote their own original Historical Fiction
children's novel. The novels were really quite impressive!
The students were able to share their stories with some first
grade students at the Primary school. Below is the group

Social
Studies Classes Acting out Resources from each Region in Arkansas
The 6th grade
Social Studies classes were studying Arkansas's regions and
resources. The floor had a large outline of Arkansas and its
regions on it. The students had to go to each region and "act
out" the resources for that region. Some of the photos show
students acting like mallard ducks eating rice in the delta,
poultry and hardwood timber in the Ozarks, pine plantations and
wild turkeys in the Ouachita Mountains, and tourists on Crowley's
Ridge. They also did some oil wells and gas wells in the Gulf
Coastal Plain, as well as agriculture in the form of wheat and soy
beans complete with wild geese feeding on them in the Arkansas
River Valley. They had fun and learned something too.
